Mikayla is a dedicated Speech Pathologist who completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Australian Catholic University. Since graduating, she has developed strong clinical experience across acute hospital, rehabilitation, community, and aged care settings.

Mikayla currently works in subacute Geriatric Rehabilitation and Palliative Care where she provides comprehensive assessment and evidence-based management of speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. She has particular experience supporting individuals following stroke and complex neurological conditions, delivering personalised care across the acute and subacute stages of recovery.

Her clinical skills include dysphagia assessment and management, videofluoroscopy swallow studies (VFSS), cognitive-communication assessment, and discharge planning to support safe transitions of care. Mikayla works closely with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, client-centred outcomes

Across her career, Mikayla has also gained valuable experience in community and NDIS settings, working with adolescents, and adults with neurodevelopmental and acquired conditions. She has supported clients with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, and progressive neurological disorders, and has strong experience in report writing, goal setting, and stakeholder collaboration. Mikayla also currently works in subacute Geriatric Rehabilitation and Palliative Care where she provides comprehensive assessment and evidence-based management of speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders. Mikayla is passionate about continuous learning and professional contribution. She has been involved in quality improvement initiatives, student supervision, and staff education, and is committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that makes a meaningful difference to her clients’ everyday lives.

Outside of work Mikayla enjoys cooking, playing futsal and spending time with friends
